Keep your twelve recovery words somewhere safe.
Your phrase restores identity and funds. Message history needs a backup.

Save your phrase
Find Recovery phrase in Settings (on iPhone, under Backup and restore) and authenticate on your device. Store the words privately. Never send them to support or paste them into a chat.
Back up your history
Use the encrypted iCloud backup or export a backup file. Check your backup settings before replacing or erasing a device.
Restore on a new device
Use your recovery phrase to restore your identity and wallet. Restore your encrypted backup for contacts and message history. Some groups may need to add you again.
Keep access secure
Anyone with your recovery phrase can access your identity and funds. An app lock protects the device; erasing local data does not erase copies held by other people.
